Grings Mill Run
5k & 10k Races and 1/2 Mile Kids Run

The Pacers were dealt a blow by heavy
rains and resulting floodwaters in early August
that required us to reschedule the
Grings Mill Run at the last minute from its
originally scheduled August 5 date. However,
our race directors jumped to the challenge
and have rescheduled the race 3
weeks later on Sunday, August 26. The race
will still be run on the scenic Grings Mill canal
path, but a new start/finish location for
this year will be at the Berks County Heritage
Center, located at 1102 Red Bridge
Road, which is accessed off of Route 183
near the interchange with Route 222 (near
Penn State/St Joseph’s Hospital). The rescheduled
event will start at 9:00am and
will still include both a 5K and 10K. There
is also a kids run for those bringing the
whole family to the event.
Details are still being finalized, but race directors
anticipate that registration will reopen,
so watch for announcements by email
and facebook in the coming days and
weeks. Also, volunteers will be needed!

original event, we appreciate your understanding

LOCATION: MOVED TO THE BERKS COUNTY HERITAGE CENTER 1102 Red Bridge, Reading. RoadRegist./ number pickup opens at 7:30 a.m. 5k/10k starts at 9:00 a.m., fun race approx 10:15. Clock at finish, refreshments, mile splits, instant results and live band. Rain or shine.
COURSE: 99% flat & Zero Traffic; VERY scenic course!!! BONUS: no need to decide which event you want to do now; make your decision race day when you know better how hot it is, how fit you are, etc!
ENTRY: 5k/10k: $24 if postmarked by Mon, July 16, 2018. Afterwards, inc. race day, $29 while shirts last. Great Quality Tech Shirts and great door prizes. Finally a race shirt you’ll actually wear! But only a limited number are available on race day so get your apps in early! No refunds or mailed awards.
Kids Run: $5 if postmarked by Monday July 16th, 2018. Afterwards, inc. day of race $7. Race day reg. for kids run to be CLOSED once we have as many kid’s entries as we have grab bags so preregister if possible. Please Note: Kids participating in both the 5k & fun run must enter twice

Be sure to bring the whole family whether you're interested in running, hiking, biking, fishing, picnicking, volleyball or just enjoying a little down time - Grings Mill Park has something for everyone, why not make a full day of it.
Entertainment will be provided by one of the areas most popular bands "Rockman Blues Band" performing from 8:30 - 11:30AM.

No pets or alcoholic beverages are allowed in the Berks County Parks System.

Park contains picnic facilities, tennis, volleyball, playground, etc.

Event held rain or shine but if the weather gets mega-weird, call the race directors to confirm that the event is not being postponed.

Races will start promptly so please arrive early; we do reserve the right to delay start if lightning.
